    Plenty of ballers tipped-off the competition with big contributions, but which player shined brightest?

    BRNO (Czechia) - The FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 didn't disappoint as the curtain was raised in Brno and there were several players who wasted little time in getting through some seriously impressive work.

    Here are your five Top Performers based on efficiency from opening day.

    Ivanna Wilson Manyacka of USA arrived with a big reputation and with her eyes on a potential MVP accolade as well as another gold medal to add to the one she won in 2024. The rising star wasted little time in strengthening her case in her team's dominant and record-breaking 117-24 win over Cote d'Ivoire.

    She stepped off court with a stellar performance efficiency valuation of 33 after contributing 21 points, 6 steals, 4 assists and 3 rebounds.

    USA break U17 steals record on opening day

    She is joined in the lineup by teammate Nation Williams who racked up a nice double-double of 11 points and 11 boards, as well as 6 steals and 2 dimes.

    Madison Ryan of Australia excelled on the same floor last year in Brno at the U19 Worlds and picked up where she left off. She guided the Sapphires to a 76-65 success against Latvia, coming up with 14 points, 4 blocks, 4 assists and 4 rebounds.

    Ava Jones starred for New Zealand in their win against Egypt

    Ava Jones of New Zealand was a big factor for her side as they also flew the flag for Oceania with a 79-65 win against Egypt. That was helped by her netting 14 points, 6 steals and 3 rebounds.

    Finally, Yuanshan Li continued where she left off at FIBA U16 Women's Asia Basket with another big offensive contribution for China. She paced their 80-51 win against Mexico with 24 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds.
