At least they now have a first win on the board after a big show from Frederike Askamp, while the Sapphires will continue relying on their impressive and relentless depth.

    Cote d'Ivoire vs Spain - 12:00 CET

It's been a tough initiation to the U17 World stage for the African debutantes and it won't get much easier when they come up against a Spain side that blew China away on gameday 3. The Spanish defense is swarming and for Cote d'Ivoire to compete they will have to deal with the inevitable pressure that comes their way.

Latvia vs China - 14:15 CET

Both teams come into this one off the back of huge losses and will want to be the team that bounces back by leaping into the top eight of the competition. Latvia continue to rely on the hot hand of the sharp-shooting Sarlote Skrebele, while China will need their own scoring machine Yuanshan Li to get back on track.

USA vs Mexico - 14:45 CET

It's an all-Americas as the unbeaten USA huge favorites to ride past the still winless Mexico. The former have been rocked to an injury to influential center Caroline Bradley, but have the in-form Ivanna Wilson Manyacka in top gear. Their opponents will rely on Jimena Velazquez who equalled the all-time steals record in her last game.

Colombia vs New Zealand - 17:00 CET

With a rare win already, Colombia have showed they can be dangerous on their day and if they did manage to slip into the Quarter-Finals it would be headline news. New Zealand have only tasted defeat once against Canada the last time they were on court, but they will feel their team basketball will propel them into the last eight.

Czechia vs Canada - 17:30 CET

The hosts have received outstanding support and if they dig out a surprise win, it would go a long way to making their fans very happy. With three losses in as many games it will be tough, but Czechia were much improved against Japan. Meanwhile Canada will look to extend their unbeaten record behind team leader, Avery Arije.

Slovenia vs Italy - 19:45 CET

It's a mouth-watering all-European meeting in the penultimate matchup of the day as both teams look to deliver a killer blow to each other and end their respective podium dreams. Both Anais Gobec and Veronika Ferjancic lived up to the pre-tournament hype in the last game, with Italy likely to lean on Isabel Hassan to get them through.

Japan vs Egypt - 20:15 CET

It's been an impressive showing from Japan and especially the highly-rated point-guard Miya Takeuchi who has been turning heads with her play. They will use their speed, ball movement and shooting skills to try and blast past their opponents. Egypt will have to try to shoot well themselves and use their height advantage to cause an upset.
