PITESTI (Romania) - Kadriye Erva Ozek made history at the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket, setting a new all-time record for assists per game while helping Türkiye to a top-six finish.
The guard joined former record-holder Lena Bilic of Croatia as only the second player in competition history to average more than 7 assists per game.
Ozek eventually finished with a record-breaking 7.4 assists per outing to set a new benchmark. Her best single-game tally was 9 assists against Croatia, but it was her remarkable consistency in creating opportunities for her teammates that stood out most.
Ozek was not the only player from this year's edition to enter the record books, with Hungary's Eniko Halasy also breaking into the all-time Top 10 after averaging 5.7 assists per game.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the floor, Croatia's Mara Koncul earned her place among the competition's all-time leaders in steals. She averaged an eye-catching 5.0 steals per game, putting her joint-fifth on the all-time list.
