    PITESTI (Romania) - The FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket Final has a familiar feel to it, as Spain and Slovenia will do battle for the second year running.

    The two beaten Semi-Finalists, France and Latvia, will square off in the Third-Place Game.

    Slovenia return to the Finals by beating France

    Slovenia got out to a fast start and motored on, as they beat France 67-58 to make it back-to-back appearances in the Final.

    The Slovenians led from start to finish, as they built a 21-4 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. As the game wore on, there were flashes from the French, and with three minutes left, they cut the deficit to 57-52. But Slovenia, fueled by incredible resiliency, closed it out.

    Veronika Ferjancic enjoyed a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners, and they were led by 19 points from Ajda Praper. For France, Sharone Zomo paced them with 11 points.

    Spain convincingly overcome Latvia

    It took a little longer than usual for Spain to get going, but a one-sided second quarter paved the way for a 91-53 win over Latvia.

    A cagey first period was broken open in the second, as the Spanish eased clear, en route to a 31-8 quarter, taking a commanding 46-22 lead at the break. Latvia never recovered.

    Amelia Alonso led four Spanish scorers in double figures with 16 points. Paula Reynal added 15. Melanija Sipolina led Latvia with 11 points.

    Top Performers

    Michal Abudram put on a show, leading Israel to a deserved 70-51 win over hosts Romania. Along with a stunning double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds, she also got 7 steals in a brilliant all-round performance.

    Veronika Ferjancic dazzled for Slovenia in their Semi-Final win over France. Her double-double, in which she went 6-for-7 from the floor for 12 points and 11 rebounds, along with 3 assists and 2 steals, helped secure a medal for her side in Romania.

    Romania had a mountain to climb when they fell behind 18-8 after the first quarter and ultimately succumbed to the Israelis. However, Carina Ungureanu had a double-double for the hosts, with 10 points and 14 rebounds, plus 2 steals and 2 blocks.

    Cloe Perini bagged herself another double-double as she guided Italy to a convincing 72-48 success over Bulgaria. Perini shot 6-for-9 from the floor and finished with 12 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

    Czechia look to finish the tournament on a high after they dismissed Lithuania 86-55. Alice Matejkova shot a perfect 6-for-6 from the field and finished with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
