PEJA (Kosovo) - Evelina Demetriadi was named MVP at the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket 2025, Division C as Cyprus beat Armenia in the Final to win their fifth Division C title.
The Cypriot rising star also headlined the All-Star Five of the event where she was joined by her teammate Katerina Shakalli, Ava Seda Gharib of runners-up Armenia, Malta's Claire Portelli and Anja Kasa from Albania.
MVP: Evelina Demetriadi (Cyprus)
Even though she didn't top the charts in any of the statistical columns, Demetriadi showcased a consistent all-around game, leading Cyprus to the glory. The team didn't need her heroics in the Final, but with 12.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.6 steals on average and a big 24-point performance against Armenia in the Group Phase, Demetriadi made her mark on the event.
Ava Seda Gharib (Armenia)
Finishing second in rebounds and assists, Gharib was the centerpiece of the Armenian team that made it so close to the throne, failing only in the Final. She averaged 12.2 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists as her monster double-double of 21 points and 17 assists against Malta in the Semi Finals proved to be crucial.
Katerina Shakalli (Cyprus)
Shakalli was crucial in Cyprus' campaign and was the top scorer and top playmakerof the team with 13.4 points, 4.0 assists and most impressive 5.0 steals on average. Providing value at the both ends of the floor, her most important individual showing came at the very end with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists against Armenia in the Final.
Claire Portelli (Malta)
Portelli was the tournament's leading scorer with 17 points per game, also leading the event in rebounds with 16.2 on average. Add 4.6 steals per game in the mix for a dominating individual showing, even though Malta missed out on the podium. Her best performance came in the battle for the bronze with 24 points and 19 rebounds against Albania.
Anja Kasa (Albania)
Kasa found her way into the Top 10 in scoring and rebounding with 12.4 points and 8.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists on average, showing consistent production throughout the event. Tipping off the action with two double-doubles, she set the tone and finished strong in the Third Place Game with 18 points and seven rebounds as Albania beat Malta to take the bronze.
