    Two thrillers that went down to the wire conclude the Group Phase as we head to the Round of 16.

    TBILISI (Georgia) - The Group Phase of FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2025 is now in the books, with the knockout stages to begin on Tuesday.

    On the final day of group action, France, Türkiye, Spain, and Latvia remained unbeaten, with the Spaniards needing a basket from Guillem Tazo with 47.3 seconds left to beat Serbia, and Lithuania secured an overtime win in a thriller over Israel, thanks to a free throw from Gabrielius Buivydas with 6.3 seconds left.

    Petar Bjelica tinkered with a triple-double for Serbia, but his efforts were not enough as Spain went 3-0 in Group C with a narrow 97-95 win. Bjelica had 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists for an efficiency rating of 33 in a thriller that went down to the wire.

    Germany ticked the win column for the first time at the U16 EuroBasket with an 85-65 victory over hosts Georgia, who ended winless from their first three games. Taking centre-stage was Paul-Julius Plato, who had 21 points and 7 rebounds. The skilled power forward also had 3 steals and 2 blocks to stuff his statline.

    Nikola Kusturica had a game-high 27 points in Serbia's loss to Spain in their Group C encounter. He shot 52 percent from the field and drained three triples for good measure, but his side agonisingly fell short.

    Israel suffered heartbreak in their game against Lithuania, losing 82-81 in a breathtaking contest that required an overtime session. Tom Aronov had 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals before fouling out, leaving everything out on the floor, earning himself an efficiency rating of 25.

    After a close first 20 minutes, Türkiye upped the gears and blew past Estonia with a 52-16 second half to win 94-55, securing a 3-0 record in Group A. Real Madrid prodigy Omer Kutluay showed his class, shooting 58 percent from the field for 21 points and 4 assists for a rating of 24.
