This is the first time that Cameroon has advanced to the final round since the championships began in 2009.

DOUALA (Cameroon) – Cameroon secured a spot in the 2025 FIBA U16 AfroBasket with resounding victories in the Zone 4 qualifiers held in Douala.

This is the first time Cameroon has reached the final round of the tournament since its inception in 2009.

Three teams — Cameroon, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo — competed for the one available spot in the 2025 FIBA U16 AfroBasket, and Cameroon emerged victorious over its neighboring countries.

The young Indomitable Lions showed determination and a desire to succeed as they left nothing to chance to secure their spot.

They won both games convincingly, defeating the Central African Republic 84–57 and the DR Congo 90–70.

DR Congo recorded one win, 80-73, over the Central African Republic to finish second. Cameroon's point guard, Nolan Ngangmeni, was named MVP.

Born on April 11, 2009, Ngangmeni currently plays for Saint-Charles Charenton Saint-Maurice Basket-ball in France. He scored 16 points in the first game and 23 in the second.

Cameroon will join eleven other countries competing for the title, currently held by Guinea.

The 2025 FIBA U16 AfroBasket will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, in September.
