Group C: Awaken Fontecchio vs reigning champs

Simone Fontecchio delivered against Bosnia and Herzegovina

We have another European classic on our hands in Group C as reigning champs Spain face Italy. Both teams recovered from their slow start with back-to-back wins so this becomes battle for 3-1 and all but promotion. It should be a close one but Italy have an ace up their sleeve - awaken Simone Fontecchio who drained 39 points against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Earlier, still perfect Greece will kick things off against Jusuf Nurkic and company, whereas Georgia don't expect much resistance from hosts Cyprus.

    • Kostas Sloukas and Kostas Papanikolaou are the only two players that played in the last EuroBasket game between Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2011, an event debut for both.

    • Alexander Mamukelashvili is the only Georgia player to go into double digits in scoring in each of the first three games at the EuroBasket 2025.

    • Simone Fontecchio scored 39 points in the last game against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy's all-time scoring record at the EuroBasket events.

Group D: Red-hot hosts take on France

France are looking to improve after defeat against Israel

After the first two games, one would expect the France vs Poland bout to be the one for the top of the table. However, Israel spoiled those plans so France have to dig themselves out against the red-hot hosts who are looking to make it 4-0. On the other hand, Israel are major favorites against Belgium and are also aiming for the top spot, whereas Slovenia take on Iceland with another chance to see Luka Doncic doing his thing on the court as the Round of 16 looms.

    • Luka Doncic is averaging 14 made free-throws per game at the EuroBasket 2025. Only Radivoj Korac (13.6, 1959) and Juan Carlos Navarro (11.5, 2005) went through the entire tournament averaging 10+.

    • Jordan Loyd has scored 25+ points in each of his first three games at the tournament debut, only the second player with that feat after Aleksandar Vezenkov in 2022.
