TALLINN (Estonia) - Czechia defeated Estonia 97-92 on the road to continue their unbeaten start to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers campaign, with point guard Tomas Satoransky playing one of the best games in World Cup Qualifiers history.
The 34-year-old playmaker finished the encounter with 18 points and 16 assists, setting a new record for most assists in a single game of the Qualifiers on a global level.
Ludde Hakanson held the record before the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers tipped off last week, and then broke it again with 15, against Satoransky in Czechia on Friday.
However, Satoransky inscribed his name at the top of the all-time list three days later.
The Czech star has made a name for himself with elite passing, and led the World Cup 2019 in assists with 8.5, the most among players who appeared in all eight games.
