    MIAMI (United States) — The fourth window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers came to an end on August 31 with six more games. Kai Jones delivered a high-impact performance on both ends of the floor to post an efficiency rating of 32. The big man contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and 6 blocks in the Bahamas’ 100-82 victory over Panama. His six blocks were crucial in controlling the paint and completing one of his best performances in the Qualifiers. Despite Puerto Rico’s 80-75 loss to Uruguay, Ethan Thompson had a big night and finished as the second-most efficient player of the day, with a rating of 30. The shooting guard scored 29 points, including five three-pointers, and filled out the stat line with 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal. Orlando Robinson II was another standout performer. The center contributed 17 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in the United States’ commanding 104-80 victory over Colombia, posting an efficiency rating of 26 and playing an important role in the Americans’ dominance. Luguentz Dort made his debut with an outstanding performance for Canada. The forward scored 25 points, including four three-pointers, while adding 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals for an efficiency rating of 25 in the 97-92 victory over Argentina that kept the Canadians as the only undefeated team in the Americas Qualifiers. Although Argentina could not come away with the win, Nicolas Laprovittola delivered the most explosive scoring performance of the day. The point guard finished with 31 points, including eight three-pointers on 12 attempts, as well as 3 assists. His eight three-pointers tied the record for most three-pointers made in a single game in the Americas Qualifiers and earned him an efficiency rating of 24.
