MIAMI (United States) – Window 4 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers tips off on August 27, ushering in a Second Round that will test the 12 teams still in contention for one of the seven available spots at the World Cup in Qatar. These six games will mark the start of a stage where every win carries weight. Brazil (6-0) and Canada (6-0) enter as the only undefeated teams. The United States, Uruguay and Argentina are all 5-1, but will have no room for complacency. The rest of the teams need to pick up wins to establish themselves in the race.

ARG vs. PUR
Puerto Rico made 40.1 percent of their shots from behind the arc, the highest scoring ratio of any team in the Americas in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers; they have made 10 or more threes in five of their six games in the current campaign.
Francisco Caffaro has scored 15+ points in three of his four games with Argentina in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers. Caffaro also had three games with 10+ rebounds, the most of any Argentinian player in Qualifiers history.
CHI vs. USA
Chile have won their last two games in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, their first winning run in the competition, after winning only three of their previous 22 games. They have lost their last four home games.
Both Chile (34.7) and USA (35.5) are the two teams with the fewest rebounds per game in the Americas in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers and are also two of the three teams grabbing fewer than 10 offensive boards per game (Chile 8.2, USA 9.0).
BRA vs. DOM
Brazil are allowing just 7.3 points off turnovers per game in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, the fewest in the Americas. The Dominican Republic ranks third at 11.3 points per game, behind Argentina at 9.8.
Brazil and Dominican Republic are the two teams with the highest FT percentage in the Americas region in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, with the Brazilians making 80.7 percent from the foul line while the Dominicans have made 76.2 percent of their attempted FTs.
URU vs. BAH
Uruguay have won five of their six games in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, already as many wins as in their previous campaign (W5 L7); they have lost three of their last four home games in the Second Round.
Only Canada (23.3) is averaging more points from turnovers per game than Bahamas (19.8) and Uruguay (18.5) in the Americas in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.
PAN vs. CAN
Panama have lost their previous two meetings with Canada in the World Cup Qualifiers, both in the Second Round, their two heaviest defeats in the competition (50-106 in August 2022 & 71-112 in November 2022).
Canada is averaging 20.7 points from fastbreak situations in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, more than any other team in the Americas, while Panama are the only team to have scored fewer than 10 such points on average (6.2).
MEX vs. COL
Colombia and Mexico met in the Second Round of the World Cup 2023 Qualifiers, with one win apiece; however, Colombia’s heaviest defeat in the World Cup Qualifiers happened against Mexico, 54-113 in February 2023, which was also Mexico’s biggest win in the competition.
Colombia are one of the three teams averaging 15+ points from second-chance situations in the World Cup 2027 Qualifiers in Americas (15.0), but are also conceding more points from those situations than any other team (15.0).
