Seventeen-year-old Abdul Aziz Yakubu came off the bench to turn Spintex Knights' fortunes around, securing automatic qualification for next month's Elite 16 round for the Ghanaian side in the process.

Yakubu came into the game with two minutes left in the opening quarter and was unstoppable in the paint. He shot 4-for-7 and finished with team highs of 14 points and 11 rebounds, helping the Spintex Knights to beat Elan Coton 63–53.

By the end of the first ten minutes, Yakubu had two points and two rebounds — a sign of things to come. And he never slowed down.

James Amotoe contributed 13 points with a 6-for-15 shooting rate, while Ruai Luak from South Sudan added 10 points and six rebounds for the victors.

The Oilers, who had a promising start to their Group B campaign, were led by Abolaji Emilagba of Nigeria, who finished with a game-high 23 points.

This was the Knights' second consecutive win in three games.

    Hosts finish undefeated

Jeuness Club d'Abidjan protected their homeport in a style with yet another convincing victory.

The Ivorian champions took an early control of the game and never looked back to win 76-47.

They defeated their last two Group B opponents - LPRC Oilers and Elan Coton - by an average of 29 points.
