MUNICH (Germany) - The new EuroLeague Women season will deliver more unmissable entertainment and box-office matchups involving some of the biggest stars of the sport.
Anticipation for the new campaign has only grown after the dramatic conclusion to the Qualifiers, raising one key question: is there a so-called Regular Season ‘Group of Death’?
You can cast your vote in the fan poll below to let us know what you think!
Group A
There's mouth-watering matchups in Group A as Casademont Zaragoza and Basket Landes both renew their rivalry after historic 2025-26 campaigns, including facing each other during their first ever Final Six appearances. Also, with their renowned support, those clashes will be memorable both on and off the court.
Meanwhile the ambitious 2026 EuroCup Women runners-up Athinaikos Qualco are stacking their roster and the Greek debutantes will be dangerous. The other spot is taken by Lithuanian club Kibirkstis-TOKS who beat Poznan and Sopron in the Qualifiers behind the hot-hand of Zoe Wadoux.
Group B
Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring will likely be favorites, especially having made the 2026 Final, as well as hanging onto the competition's MVP in Dorka Juhasz. Beretta Famila Schio have retained almost all of their roster so will bank on continuity, experience and quality as reasons to be challengers this year.
Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen of Belgium make a return after a few seasons away and will be out to cause some surprises. It was legendary Serbian playcaller and former EuroLeague Women champion Marina Maljkovic who masterminded KKZ Crvena Zvezda making the main phase after they beat Zabiny Brno and DVTK in the Qualifiers.
Group C
There are two true heavyweight ready to go to work in Group C and not least, reigning champions Fenerbahce Tarfin who will inevitably be labelled as the tournament favorites once again. But they might be put to the test early against Valencia Basket Club who will want to bounce back after the real sting of missing Final Six last season.
CS Rapid Bucuresti will start the season against two frontrunners for silverware but will be confident they can cause some problems and fly the flag for Romanian basketball. Flammes Carolo Basket left Reyer stunned in the Qualifiers as the French club booked their ticket in style, having also seen off KP Brno in the Qualifiers Semi-Finals.
Group D
There are five collective EuroLeague Women titles won during the modern era by ZVVZ USK Praha and Tango Bourges Basket, who will be favored to fight it out for pole position in Group D. Both clubs are overhauling their respective rosters, so it will be fascinating to see if they live up to the billing as the two teams to beat.
AZS UMCS Lublin remain an unknown quantity in what could be the most unpredictable group. There will also be a new face this season as Emlak Konut grabbed a maiden spot after firstly beating Panathinaikos in the Semi-Finals of the Qualifiers, and then seeing off Spar Girona in the Final behind some heroics from Pallas Kunaiti and Reka Lelik.
