Broncos dominate on defense, inch closer to Group Phase sweep

    Game Report

One more game towards a perfect Group Phase for the Broncos

ULAANBAATAR (Mongolia) - The Broncos stay undefeated by beating Adroit, 76-62, in the Basketball Champions League Asia-East (BCL Asia-East) 2025 at the UG Arena, Wednesday night.

It was another outstanding defensive performance from the Mongolian champions as they set the record for most steals in a game with 18 in total. The Broncos clamped down in the fourth quarter in particular, holding Adroit to only 9 points.

Even then, coach Ariunbold Erdene, was still not completely satisfied with his team on that end.

"Adroit competed very hard, thats why they got more rebounds than us. That’s why the score was so close. Our defense is not working today because our guys are a bit tired."

Jordy Tshimanga, who had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds, scored the first basket in 34 seconds of the contest and the Broncos never looked back. Their lead grew to double-digits as early as the first quarter and they stay ahead throughout the entire game from there.

In the second half, Adroit put their fighting spirit on display and cut a lead of as large as 16 points down to as close as 5 points. The Singaporean club threatened to make a comeback, but a 7-0 run that was ignited by a breakaway dunk by Azbayar Altangerel just under the five minute mark, kept the Broncos ahead.

Altangerel had 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in another impressive game for the rising youngster. Tushig Elbeg led the team with 5 steals in the historic swiping night for the Broncos and also tied Ian Miller as leaders in scoring with 14 points.

Sergii Pryimak led all scorers with 17 points and added 10 rebounds. Adroit (0-6) end their BCL Asia-East campaign without a win.

While the Broncos (5-0) have already locked up a spot in the Final Four, they still have one final game left against Hi-Tech Basketball Club (2-3) on May 15 at 20:30 PM (local time) with a chance to be only one of two teams to go through the Group Phase unscathed.
