DUBAI (United Arab Emirates) - After going unbeaten in the BCL Asia-East 2025 Qualifiers and lifting the region’s crown, the Broncos are riding a wave of momentum into their first BCL Asia appearance.
With a battle-tested core and a passionate fanbase ready to support them through thick and thin, the Mongolian champs are out to prove that their storybook run is only getting started.
Qualifying path
The Broncos enter BCL Asia 2025 as the champions of the BCL Asia-East, completing a perfect 8-0 campaign. They exacted revenge on past foes like Pelita Jaya and NS Matrix and swept through the Final 4 with statement wins, including an 86-77 victory over Taoyuan Pilots in the title game.
That win was led by Ian Miller’s 30-point outburst, capping off a tournament in which he was named MVP after averaging 17.9 points and 5.6 assists per game. With a stifling defense and a league-best 16 made three-pointers in two separate games, the Broncos dominated both ends of the floor.
The Broncos became the first Mongolian club to win an international regional title and only the second to qualify for BCL Asia, making this campaign a milestone moment for the country’s basketball ascent.
BCL Asia history
This is the Bronco's first appearance in BCL Asia, but their journey to get here has been years in the making. Just last season, the Broncos fell short in the Qualifiers and missed the main tournament after a key loss to Pelita Jaya.
The heartbreak of that early exit turned into fuel. With a revamped roster and under new head coach Ariunbold Erdene, the team focused on improvement, continuity, and defense - and the payoff came in historic fashion.
Now, they arrive as the first Mongolian team to reach BCL Asia since 2012, bringing with them a tenacious, physical style that’s already caught regional attention.
Players to watch
All eyes will be on Ian Miller, the dynamic veteran guard who orchestrated the Broncos’ title run and was named the first BCL Asia-East MVP. From clutch shooting to playmaking, Miller’s fingerprints were all over their undefeated campaign.
Azbayar Altangerel emerged as the tournament’s breakout local star, earning MVP chants after multiple double-digit scoring games and defensive highlights, including a game-saving block against Hi-Tech.
Jordy Tshimanga, a dominant inside force, dropped 29 points against New Taipei and recorded multiple double-doubles. Veteran forward Jordan Tolbert, known for his energy and two-way game, has been instrumental as well.
Together, this blend of leadership, youth, and size makes the Broncos one of the most compelling new entrants in BCL Asia - and a dark horse threat to go deep.
