Final 12-man roster for Germany's impressive squad

HAMBURG (Germany) - Germany have unveiled their 12-man roster for the FIBA Basketball World Cup with Isaac Bonga, David Kramer, and Moritz Wagner joining nine of the players that reached the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 podium.

Coach Gordie Herbert has a star-studded, explosive roster, one that can wreak havoc with its long-range shooting.

In addition to captain Dennis Schroder, the fifth-leading scorer at EuroBasket 2022 at 22.1 points per game, and Franz Wagner, who averaged 15.2 points, are veteran big men Daniel Theis, Johannes Thiemann, and Johannes Voitmann.

There are also sharpshooters Andi Obst and Maodo Lo. Obst's 25 made three-pointers were the most at EuroBasket. He connected on a scintillating 48.1 percent of his attempts. Lo drilled 23 shots from the arc, hitting 45.1 percent.

Moritz Wagner, the older brother of Franz who featured in Germany's Olympic team at the Tokyo Games but was absent last summer because of injury, is back. Another member of the Olympic team, Bonga, has returned. The 2.03m (6'8") Bonga is a huge talent that can play point guard and small forward. Possessing a wingspan of 2.13m, Bonga has NBA experience.

Kramer has played a lot for Germany in the international windows. Other returning members of last year's EuroBasket squad are Justus Hollatz and Niels Giffey.

Germany are in a so-called "group of death", Group E, with Australia, Finland, and Japan. Those games will be played in Okinawa.
