Quarter-Final tickets punched in Zaragoza

ZARAGOZA (2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship) - The Quarter-Final line-up at the 2016 FIBA U17 Women's Championship is complete after a busy day of action in Zaragoza.

Canada are still rolling strongly and were able to cruise to a 72-37 win against Mexico after a 10-point and 12-rebound double-double from Roxane Makolo. The Canadians will play Italy, who breathed a sigh of relief after a narrow 58-55 win against Mali.

Reigning champions USA stamped their passport to the Last Eight by beating Brazil 79-62 as Christyn Williams and Janelle Bailey had 19 points apiece. They will tussle with France who shrugged off a late salvage bid from Japan to take a 58-52 victory.

China produced a devastating 22-3 second quarter against Latvia, which along with 18 points from Jiaqi Wang, facilitated a 76-46 win. They are the sole Asian representatives in the Quarter-Finals and will match up with Spain, who stayed perfect via a 78-44 victory against Korea.

Meanwhile, Czech Republic threw a defensive blanket over Portugal to take a 49-31 success in a repeat of the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2015 Final. They will meet Australia who had advanced directly to the Quarter-Finals.
