Park posts rarest of triple-doubles with a mind blowing 11 blocks

BELGRADE (Serbia) - Korea standout Ji Su Park posted a performance for the ages at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 Qualifying Tournament in Serbia with the most special of triple-doubles.

“My teammates kept supporting me and telling me to be aggressive and I thank them for this moment."

Taking her team to a precious 76-74 victory against Brazil, the 23-year-old was on fire at both ends of the court in the second-half and walked off the floor having accumulated a phenomenal 20 points, 13 rebounds, and jaw-dropping 11 blocks.

The 1.98m (6'6") center had everyone in the building on their feet in appreciation and then scratching their heads in astonishment trying to remember if they had ever seen such a feat. The general consensus was a resounding "NO!".

Yet despite the amazing numbers, it was far from straightforward, with Park not as effective in the first-half while getting the physical treatment from the Brazilian defense, especially from veteran Erika De Souza.

"I feel like I have been in a car accident," joked Park after the contest.

"There was lots of physical pressure as Brazil are very strong and big, but I thought of China with their two big players and that helped, because it reminded me of how I play regularly against them in Asia."

"It was a nice feeling to win the game and have this performance because I didn't actually play well against Serbia and even in the first half of this one, I was not that good and felt depressed."

"But my teammates kept supporting me and telling me to be aggressive and I thank them for this moment," she concluded.
