Vaccines offered for delegations that participated in the FIBA ​​Women's AmeriCup 2021

SAN JUAN (Puerto Rico) - For the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the safety of all its members is a priority in this time of pandemic. With that being said, during the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2021, all participating delegations were offered the COVID-19 vaccine.

This was possible thanks to a joint effort between the FIBA ​​Regional Office in the Americas, the Puerto Rican Basketball Federation (FBPUR) and the Puerto Rico Department of Health, which, through their efforts, made it possible for the 300 participating members of the bubble in San Juan, to be granted the unique opportunity to have the Jansenn vaccine.

 

In this effort, players, coaches, members of the technical staff, referees, FIBA staff and others involved, were able to return fully vaccinated to their countries.

Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, El Salvador, United States, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Venezuela, were the national teams that participated in this FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2021.

FIBA will continue to implement new ways to provide a safe return to normalcy and basketball, for all its delegations and participants.
