How to qualify

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2023 WOMEN'S AFROBASKET QUALIFIER

Five national teams have qualified automatically (the four semi-finalists of the last edition plus the host country) for the FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2023, Nigeria (defending champion), Mali (runner-up), Cameroon (medal bronze), Senegal (semi-finalists) and Rwanda (hosts) but seven more will compete across the continent over the coming months to qualify for the biennial event.

And only the champion of each will be qualified and will join the 5 nations already qualified.

And some national teams are currently preparing to launch their bid for a spot in the FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2023, which will serve as a qualifier for the 2024 Women's Pre-Olympic Qualifiers.

DATES TO KNOW:

- From February 14 to 19, 2023: Uganda - Zone 5 qualifiers.

The 2023 Women's AfroBasket qualifiers start in February and are expected to end in June before the final round which will take place from July 28 to August 6, 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda.
