Cote d'Ivoire select preliminary roster for FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017 Qualifiers

ABIDJAN (FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017) - Cote d'Ivoire head coach Simon Guillou has selected 26 players to prepare next month's FIBA Africa Zone 3 qualifier for this year's FIBA Women's AfroBasket.

The Abidjan regional qualifier marks Cote d'Ivoire's first major event since they saw Nigeria clinch Zone 3' ticket for the FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2015.

Three players - including Mamiky Cisse, Salimata Berte and Edwige Djedjemel - were part of the team that finished seventh at FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2013 in Maputo, Mozambique.

From May 9-14, Cote d'Ivoire will do battle against Benin and Burkina Faso in chase for the only ticket on offer for Zone 3 teams for the Final Round to be held in Mali in September.
