Cote d'Ivoire call up 20 for Women's AfroBasket 2017 preparations

ABIDJAN (FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2017) - Cote d'Ivoire are preparing their return to the FIBA Women's AfroBasket with a 20-player preliminary squad, the country's Basketball Federation announced.

After missing out qualification for the 2015 edition of the African Championship, the 'Elephants' beat Benin in May in a two-game series to qualify for next month's 12-team FIBA Women's AfroBasket in Bamako, Mali.

Although Kani Kouyate, who led the Ivoirians in scoring in Mozambique two years ago, is not part of the preliminary squad, head coach Guillou has called a number of new faces including eight players born in or after 1997.
