Madoui believes GS Petroliers can shock Ferroviario de Maputo

LUANDA (FIBA Africa Champions Cup Women 2017) - GS Petroliers veteran guard Meriem Madoui is confident that her side can cause an upset when they take on Mozambican giants Ferroviario de Maputo in the Quarter-Finals of the ongoing FIBA Africa Champions Cup Women 2017 on Friday at the Kilamba Arena.

The 36-year old has admitted that Ferroviario de Maputo face a tall order but her side's speed will help them to run the floor and have an edge over their opponents who play a calculated game.

"I think that we stand a good chance to win this game. We have been improving since the tournament started and now this is our chance to make it to the Semi-Finals for the first time," - Madoui.

Ferroviario de Maputo on the other hand will be looking to overcome their disappointing loss to Primeiro de Agosto on Wednesday in their last Group B tie but head coach Inak Garcia knows that this will be an even bigger test considering that a place in the last four is at stake.

Speaking to FIBA.basketball, Madoui said, "I think that we stand a good chance to win this game. We have been improving since the tournament started and now this is our chance to make it to the Semi-Finals for the first time."

Meanwhile, Primeiro de Agosto who are eyeing their first title since 2015 will be up against Equity Bank Hawks of Kenya while the reigning African champions Inter Clube take on DC Motema Pembe.
