Pietrus out for 6-8 weeks with groin injury

GRAVELINES (FIBA Europe Cup) - Before the start of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Round, BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque lost veteran forward Florent Pietrus for a considerable amount of time.

The 35-year-old veteran is estimated to be sidelined for anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks with a groin injury, sustained in the last Regular Season game against Limburg United.

After missing a week of action in the French LNB Pro A, Pietrus stepped on the floor last weekend against Elan Chalon and played through pain, but further examination deemed that a longer recovery was necessary.

In the six games he played in the FIBA Europe Cup, the player averaged 20 minutes, scoring 5.0 points and grabbing 3.3 rebounds per game, as Gravelines went on to win Group B in the Regular Season with a 4-2 record.

The French club will compete in Group L in the Second Round of the competition against the likes of Demir Insaat, Antwerp Giants and Prievidza.
