New Year's Resolutions: Osiris Eldridge

ISTANBUL (FIBA Europe Cup) - Demir Insaat high-flying guard Osiris Eldridge is among the players we asked to look back at 2016 and share their thoughts and expectations for the upcoming year.

The 28-year-old American player is averaging 12.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.1 steals in the FIBA Europe Cup and has been a key piece for the Turkish side who currently lead Group L with a 2-0 record in the Second Round.

FIBA.com: If you had to single out three personal important moments/experiences of 2016, which three would you choose?
It would have to be hearing my one-year-old son talk and say his first real words, being able to sign back in Turkey, a country that I love, and making it to see another year. I lost some really good friends this year to senseless violence in Chicago. Rest in peace, fellow hooper Jonathan Mills. Just being able to continue to play the game I love and take care of my son and family is what I value the most.

FIBA.com: What will be your New Year's resolutions?
I just plan to continue to live the right way, focus on basketball and just take life one day at a time.

FIBA.com: How do you plan to spend New Year's Eve and New Year's Day?
We play my very first professional club, Pinar Karsiyaka, on New Year's Eve, I don't really have plans for the night yet but winning that game is for sure on my priority list. Hoping to go into the new year on a positive note.

If you were told that you get to fulfil one big dream or one big wish of yours in 2017, what would you choose?
It would be to retire from basketball and be back in the States on a beach in Miami with billions in my bank account. I know that is unrealistic, but that's definitely what I wish for! [laughs]
