Germany v Lithuania

A straight shoot-out for second spot in Group A, the result of this game will define these teams’ potential path to a deep run into the competition.

Ukraine v Latvia

All four teams in Group C go into the final game of the first phase with one win and one defeat. Ukraine and Latvia both recovered from opening-day losses to register impressive triumphs on Sunday.

Serbia v Slovenia

In that deadlocked Group C, the opposite goes for Serbia and Slovenia, who slipped to day two defeats. It could be a tense afternoon for both teams.

Finland v France

The winless French will hope to have the influential Amine Noua back in the line-up after he missed the defeat to Israel due to an injury suffered in the warm-up. Finland are riding high after a dramatic victory against Spain. They will be keen to see more of the same but must surely provide star turn Lauri Markkanen with more support on the offensive end.

Italy v Sweden

The Italians appear to be back in business after a much-improved performance on day two. Federico Mussini and Diego Flaccadori were on song and must continue to establish their team’s rhythm against a dogged Sweden, who will fight them all the way for second spot.

Spain v Israel

Surprise package Israel face another huge challenge, closing out Group B against Spain. The Spanish will be desperate to put right that overtime heartbreak against Finland while it will be intriguing to see whether Dan Shamir’s side can exude the same amount of calm and influence over another contest.

Turkey v Hungary

Turkey’s pressure defence was simply too much for Germany on day two. That may not be needed against a Hungarian team that have lost their two games by a combined 107 points.

Belgium v Czech Republic

With victories in each of their opening two games, Czech Republic have sealed top spot in Group D while Belgium are locked in to fourth position. The coaches may see this as an opportunity to reshuffle their packs.
