Wisla lose their rock in Zurowska-Cegielska

KRAKOW (EuroLeague Women 2017) – Polish champions Wisla Can-Pack will have to fill a sizeable void this season after confirming the ever-reliable Justyna Zurowska-Cegielska is taking maternity leave.

The experienced Poland national team forward has been a standout performer for both club and country during her career and is arguably one of the most underrated players in the European game.

Zurowska-Cegielska has been a real force in national team colours and has averaged a typically productive 13 points and 4.7 rebounds per game during the FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 Qualifiers. It is expected she will now miss the final window in November.

The 31-year-old was expected to appear in her eighth consecutive EuroLeague Women campaign and her fifth straight season with the Krakow-based Wisla.

Wisla do still have quality players in the post such as the evergreen Ewelina Kobryn and Chile national team leader, Ziomara Morrison who will make her EuroLeague Women debut.
