Spanish ace Salvadores heading to Salamanca

SALAMANCA (EuroLeague Women) - Perfumerias Avenida have pulled off a real coup by snapping up one of the hottest prospects in the women's game after inking teenage sensation Angela Salvadores for the 2016-17 season.

The free-scoring and stellar talented guard will leave her NCAA career behind after only playing a freshman year at Duke.

The news will be the cherry on the cake for fans of Avenida since their side recently enjoyed capturing an overdue Liga Femenina title and also because Salvadores has committed to a three-year deal.

The former FIBA Europe Young Women's Player of the Year, Salvadores rose to prominence for her productive displays at youth level for her country.

She grabbed herself a significant slice of global attention for her jaw-dropping display at the FIBA U17 Women's World Championship last summer in Pilsen when she erupted for a spectacular 40 points in the Final which almost toppled USA, as Spain ran them mightily close.

It resulted in a rarity as Salvadores was crowned MVP of the tournament - despite not finishing on the gold medal winning team.

Prior to that, she carried Spain to successive titles at the U16 European Championship in 2012 and 2013.

Salvadores could make her EuroLeague Women debut next season and has already impressed domestically after stepping out with Rivas, prior to her brief adventure Stateside.
