SALAMANCA (EuroLeague Women 2017) - Perfumerias Avenida have given a glimpse of the firepower they will have in EuroLeague Women this season after riding to another Spanish SuperCup success.

The locals revelled in seeing their favourites complete a comfortable and high-scoring 93-80 triumph at Pabellon Wurzburg against IDK Gipuzkoa.

One of many high profile arrivals during the summer, new signing Adaora Elonu, cemented the MVP award to take Avenida to the top of the podium in the competition for the sixth time. The forward spearheaded the win by registering a nice double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.

There was also a huge 28 points posted by Serbia national team star Jelena Milovanovic whose quality on the club and international stage could help Avenida to live up to the excitement and hype for the season ahead, with the club having increased its season ticket sales off the back of an eye-catching summer recruitment campaign.

The win also saw a trio of Spanish Rio Olympians celebrate with another medal, as Silvia Dominuez shone with six assists alongside her national team colleagues Laura Gil and Laura Quevedo.

However, there was a sense of relief as well as jubilation after the final buzzer for the near 3,000 supporters present, since Avenida stumbled in a big way last weekend when they suffered a false start and shock loss in the Castilla y Lyon Cup by Pajariel Bembibre.
