Beat The Expert: Six in a row for Zaragoza or will DVTK come out on top?

MUNICH (Germany) - Two of the biggest EuroLeague Women fairytales of recent times collide in our Game of the Week on Gameday 9 as rookies Casademont Zaragoza take on second season standouts DVTK HUN-Therm in Spain.

With a repeat of the 2023 SuperCup Women Final on Tuesday night between LDLC ASVEL Feminin and Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding, plus seven games to enjoy on Wednesday, it's all set to be another show-stopping week of action.

We also get to resume our Beat the Expert challenge, with all fans having the chance to predict the winners, while French men's national team and ASVEL star Nando de Colo comes in as our weekly guest.

Game of the Week: Casademont Zaragoza vs DVTK HUN-Therm

Currently placed third and second in Group A respectively, this is a giant matchup that will go a long way to securing a Quarter-Finals spot for the winner. The Spanish side have lost only twice so far (including to their opponents in a close one earlier in the campaign), with the Hungarians losing just the once so far.

Casademont Zaragoza made it five in a row last week and only just survived against ACS Sepsi-SIC to keep their streak running. It has been their defense that has proven to be key all season long and with the newcomers also benefiting from a truly tremendous home crowd, they will be confident of making it six consecutive victories.

DVTK meanwhile are unflappable. So composed, they continue to defy the odds almost relentlessly - with just the recent loss to Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding spoiling their record. Their team basketball ethos continues to deliver and they are tough to break down and normally rotate very effectively. On paper, it looks like being an absorbing contest.

You can watch the live broadcast of the game between Casademont Zaragoza and DVTK HUN-Therm with commentary on the EuroLeague Women YouTube channel on Wednesday, December 14 at 20:00 CET

Key matchup: Naturally all the focus will be on Leonie Fiebich who is a bonafide MVP Race contender because of the work she has been doing with Zaragoza.

It could be that Kaila Charles goes up against her as she did for chunks of the first meeting which DVTK won 66-63. This could be an exciting and compelling head-to-head duel - and in truth, one of many on the court.
