MUNICH (Germany) - Elizabeth Williams and Sandrine Gruda were the leading lights during the first game day of the EuroLeague Women Quarter-Finals, but there was a double celebration only for the former.

That's because Fenerbahce Safiport star Williams not only produced a classy performance, she did so as part of a convincing 77-56 victory against TTT Riga. The American center contributed at both ends of the court and came up with 11 points. 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks.

She is joined in the lineup by her teammate Alina Iagupova. with the Ukrainian ace doing the business on the wings by harvesting 15 points. 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists.

Sandrine Gruda registered the same performance efficiency valuation as Williams, 24, but she had a different experience because she had to suck up the disappointment of a narrow 72-70 loss to ZVVZ USK Praha. The French veteran weighed in with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals, but it was not quite enough to inspire a victory.

The defeat was also in part due to the super leadership of  Teja Oblak, who provided the backbone for the triumph of ZVVZ USK Praha. She walked off the court having scored attained 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

Finally, Sopron Basket celebrated an eye-catching 60-42 win home court win against BLMA with Jelena Brooks playing a big hand in the victory by completing a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
