Game of the Week: Whose win streak will end when Fenerbahce Safiport face Spar Girona?

ISTANBUL (Turkey) - Either Fenerbahce Safiport or Spar Girona will head into the winter break riding the high of a five game winning streak as both look to extend their good runs in the Game of the Week.

Each side won its last four respective outings and both teams hold an identical record in the Group B standings, although there will be added motivation for the Turkish hosts, having suffered a double-digit loss in the reverse fixture.

The live broadcast of the game between Fenerbahce Safiport and Spar Girona will be freely available on the EuroLeague Women YouTube channel, as well as on Facebook, at 18:00 CET on Tuesday, December 21.

Form guide: Fenerbahce Safirport sit in 3rd place in the group with a 6-3 record, having won their last four. In the Turkish League, they are leaders with 8 wins from 9 games. Spar Girona are group leaders but have the same record, while in the Spanish Liga Femenina they are in third place and have a 10-3 record.

Last meeting: Spar Girona took a memorable 71-59 win, fueled by a 28-point haul from Kennedy Burke and a super 26-10 last quarter.

Alina Iagupova had one of her quieter games when the teams last met and will be looking to hit a higher gear

Key matchup:  It remains to be seen who will guard who, with plenty of options available to both coaches, but there is certainly the mouth-watering prospect of a potential matchup between Alina Iagupova and Rebekah Gardner. Both ballers are so influential and spent much time in each other's space in the last meeting. Iagupova had one of her quieter games and will want to impose herself having shot a disappointing 4 of 26.

X-factor: Spar Girona have relied hugely on the one-two punch of Kennedy Burke and Rebekah Gardner during their recent hot streak, but they may need someone else to really step up to win this tough duel in Istanbul. Fenerbahce Safiport clearly have more offensive options, so it would benefit Girona hugely if either one or both of Julia Reisingerova and Binta Drammeh were able to have a strong offensive night and show themselves as a vitally important third scorer - assuming Burke and Kennedy do the business as usual.
