MKD protect their house, become the only 2-0 team in the Pre-Qualifiers

SKOPJE (FIBA EuroBasket 2021 Pre-Qualifiers) - The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia are the only 2-0 team of the FIBA EuroBasket 2021 Pre-Qualifiers after taking down Switzerland 83-68 in Skopje.

Turning point: The game was evenly balanced at 40-40 early in the second half, but a 14-2 MKD run saw them take full control of the game, as they ended the third quarter with a 66-51 lead. It was smooth sailing from there on for Jordanco Davitkov and his players.

Game hero: A solid team-effort by MKD, as the home crowd favorite Stojanovski brothers combined for 19 points and 15 rebounds, but the most effective player on the court was Richard Hendrix. The big man had 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks.

Stats don't lie: Team depth was crucial for MKD to get back-to-back wins in a matter of days, and their bench performed great on Sunday, outscoring Switzerland's second unit 37-12.

Game notes: MKD have taken part at five FIBA EuroBasket tournaments, including four of the last five - only missing out on the action in 2017. Being the only team at 2-0 following the first window, they have taken a huge step forward, and are just inches away from their place in the Second Round.
