MIES (Switzerland) - The FIBA Esports Open 2020 is back for the second edition, and we have you covered with everything you need to know before the action gets underway.

Who is taking part in FIBA Esports Open 2020 II?

A total of 38 teams are taking part across the six regional conferences with participation more than doubled from the 17 nations that competed in the FIBA Esports Open in June.

When does the FIBA Esports Open 2020 II take place?

The second edition got underway on November 14-15 with the first three regional conferences of Africa, Middle East and Southeast Asia / Oceania. The hotly contested Europe conference is set for December 12-13, while the North & Central America, and South America conferences are scheduled on December 19-20.

How can you follow the event?

A dedicated FIBA Esports Open 2020 website has been launched for the second edition of the competitions that will allow you track all the action with the schedule, standings and daily recaps. All of the games will streamed once again from the FIBA Esports Studio in Riga, Latvia with a total of six days of live online action.


Fans will be able to watch the action live on FIBA's Facebook, Twitch and YouTube channels, while all of the best plays and memorable moments will be available across all of our social media platforms.

What is NBA 2K Pro-AM/MyPlayer? And how does it work?

The popular video game series, published annually by 2K Sports, features the Pro-AM mode that sees a team formed by gamers' individual characters that they control. Each team will consist of seven players with five on the court along with two reserves.

The action will take place remotely on NBA 2K21 with teams having full licence with the customization of their own avatars as well as team uniforms and the arena designs. 

Who won the first event?

Australia, Argentina, Italy, the Philippines and Saudi Arabia all came out on top in their respective conferences as they prevailed in the inaugural three-day event back in June.

In November, Australia, Cote d'Ivoire and Saudi Arabia were crowned as conference winners as they opened the second edition. Italy are next in line with the chance to defend their title on December 12-13.
