Jamaal Levy: "We want to show our best basketball"

PANAMA (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019) — Jamaal Levy, power forward of the Panama National Team, spoke about what will be the Caribbean squad's debut in the second window of the FIBA World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers. As locals, they will try to accomplish their first triumph after the defeats faced in the first window, against Uruguay and Argentina.

In a conversation with FIBA, the Panamanian noted that: “Most of us have played together and the team is feeling more comfortable. We came here with excitement and wanting to do things right, especially when we have two games as locals. We want to show our basketball to our people. These are two essential games to improve our chances of going to the next round. Paraguay is in the same situation and we want to add points as locals,” the power forward for the Central American team said pre-game.

Panama fell against Uruguay 86-73 in their debut in the Qualifiers they played as visitors in Montevideo, despite Jaime Lloreda’s 13 points, and later could not win as locals against Argentina (59-68).

“We expect to give a step forward and improve as a group. We know what both games mean; they will ask a lot of us, but we're trying to adapt,”Jamaal LevyJamaal Levy

In this second stage, the Panamanians will be locals in both opportunities, and will face Paraguay at Estadio Roberto Durán and then will welcome Uruguay in their second date, on Monday.
