Experience players lead Brazil to victory in Osorno

OSORNO (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers) – Brazil started the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers with a 99-89 win over Chile.

The game was close and well-fought during the first minutes, but the Brazilians turned up the energy on their defense, to create 21 fast break points. Chile fought hard with a great performance from Herrera and Morales who scored 15 and 14 points respectively. During the last minutes of the game, Chile discounted a few points from the difference, but Brazil held on to the win.

Brazil had five players scoring in double digits, and the best scorer was Alex Garcia with 14 points.

Brazil will now travel to Rio de Janeiro to host Venezuela on November 27. Meanwhile, Chile will face Colombia on November 27.
