A must-win encounter for Egypt and Angola
CAIRO (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers) - Against all the odds, both Angola and Egypt lost their games on Friday.
Egypt - the hosts of the second-leg of Group C of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers - lost to the highly-motivated Democratic Republic of Congo while Angola collapsed to high-flying Morocco.
To keep their intentions of advancing to the 12-team Second Round of the African Qualifiers, only a win matters for each team.
When these two teams met in the first-leg last November in the Angolan capital, Angola prevailed 68-64.
Angola will enter the encounter looking to improve their mark to 4-1 while Egypt chase a 3-2 mark.
And although enjoy a 9-0 head-to-head advantage against the North Africans dating back to 1993, Egypt will try to make the most of their home-court advantage and stay "positive" according to Egypt head coach Amr Aboulkheir.
After all, the Egyptians are hosting a FIBA competition for the first time since 2003.
Seven-footer center Omar Oraby had a 16-point and 15 rebounds against Angola in the first-leg, and he remains a key factor for Saturday's clash.
He disrupted the Congolese with a19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds on Friday.
