Top 5 Performances from Day 1 of FIBA ABL 2019 Group B Games

COTONOU (Benin) - Nigeria Civil Defenders basketball rose from an eleven points half-time deficit to post a 67 - 59 victory over BC Terreur of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Later in the day Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive de Rades left no stone unturned from the jump ball when they recorded a 71 - 55 win over hosts Elan Sportif of Benin.

Ibe Abuchi Agu (Civil Defenders)


 Agu was all the Nigerian side needed to raise their hope of a possible Elite 8 qualification. And the 2.01m(6ft7in) Forward landed a double double of 23 points and 15 rebounds to help the Abuja-based team seal a 67-59 victory over BC Terreur.

The 21-year-old made seven of his eleven field goal attempt and has an efficiency rating of 28.

Mourad El Mabrouk (ES Rades)

The Tunisian International was a delight to watch as he worked had on both sides of the floor to help his side to a 71-55 win over the hosts Elan Sportif.

El Mabrouk sunk 16 points, 3 rebounds with efficiency rating of 18.

Freddy Kalama Luyeye (BC Terreur)

Though his side lost their group opening game to Civil Defenders after staying in front for most of the first two quarters Luyeye did gave a good account of himself.

The hard fighting forward posted a double double of 17 points, 10 rebounds and an efficiency rating of 22.

Ziyed Chennoufi(ES Rades)

The Tunisian international who says his main objective is to become the first winner of the FIBA ABL combine beautifully with his teammates to wade off threat from Elan Sportif.

Chennoufi made six of his thirteen attempts recording 16 points, 6 rebounds and an efficiency of 11.

Ocheibi Okpe (Civil Defenders)

Hardworking Okpe played some major role in his side come back from eleven points deficit to snatch victory against BC Terreur in their opening group game.

Okpe was credited with 13 points, 9 rebounds and efficiency of 10.
