The draw ceremony for the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2019 took place on Wednesday, February 20, in Heraklion, Greece.

The 16 teams participating in the 14th edition of the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup are:

Host country: Greece
Africa: Mali, Senegal 
Americas: Argentina, Canada, Puerto Rico, USA 
Asia: Australia, China, New Zealand, Philippines
Europe: France, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Serbia

Here are the draw principles:

- Strict division of the teams from the same Region with a maximum of 2 European teams in one of the groups.

Seeding of teams:

Pot 1: Greece, USA, Australia, Serbia
Pot 2: Latvia, France, Russia, Lithuania
Pot 3: Canada, Argentina, New Zealand, China
Pot 4: Puerto Rico, Philippines, Mali, Senegal

The following restrictions applied:

- Canada and Argentina not drawn in same group as USA;
- China and New Zealand not drawn in same group as Australia;
- Puerto Rico and Philippines not drawn in same groups as teams from respective continents, i.e. Puerto Rico cannot be with Argentina, Canada and/or USA; Philippines cannot be with Australia, China and/or New Zealand.
