    A'Ja Wilson crowned TISSOT MVP to lead All-Star Five presented by Google

    SYDNEY (Australia) - There was a double celebration for USA star A'Ja Wilson after being named TISSOT MVP of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 to headline the All-Star Five presented by Google.

    SYDNEY (Australia) - There was a double celebration for USA star A'Ja Wilson after being named TISSOT MVP of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 to headline the All-Star Five presented by Google in Sydney.

    Wilson was a constant menace to all of USA's opponents and she finished the tournament propelling the USA to an 83-61 Final success against China as they picked up an astonishing 11th title. As well as her 19 points in the Final, she averaged 17.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.2 steals per outing.

    The All-Star Five presented by Google are A'Ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Xu Han, Bridget Carleton and Steph Talbot 

    She was joined in the All-Star Five presented by Google by USA colleague Breanna Stewart, who was the MVP of the 2018 edition in Tenerife. She averaged 12.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

    China took their first silver medal since the last time the event was hosted in Australia back in 1994, with towering center Xu Han most impressive. She averaged 12.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.

    Steph Talbot had an all-action tournament for Australia and was pivotal to the Opals taking bronze. The guard posted a near triple-double in the Third Place Game with Canada and averaged 8.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists per outing across the competition.

    The last spot was snapped up by Canada's Bridget Carleton who played a leading role in her nation making the Semi-Finals for the first time since 1986. The small forward finished the tournament with 12.8 points. 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
