    FIBA Regional Office Asia ruling on incident during Al Riyadi vs Sagesse SC

    The FIBA Regional Office Asia announced on Friday that it has concluded disciplinary proceedings on the incident which took place during the FIBA WASL - West Asia SF Game 3 game between Riyadi and Sagesse.

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office – Asia announced on Friday that it has concluded disciplinary proceedings on the incident which took place during the FIBA WASL West Asia League Semi-Finals Game 3 game between Al Riyadi and Sagesse SC on April 17, 2024 in Zouk Mikael and has reached a ruling.

    After careful consideration of the evidence and based on the FIBA Internal Regulations, the Regional Office has decided that the following sanctions shall be imposed on Al Riyadi.

    A fine of CHF 50,000 (fifty thousand Swiss Francs), or its equivalent in US Dollars, on Al Riyadi Beirut Club, in accordance with articles 1-168 and 1-169 of the FIBA IR

    A one-year suspension for Al Riyadi Beirut fan club, the group of supporters who attend Al Riyadi Beirut games, known as the ‘Ultras Riyadi’. The ‘Ultras Riyadi’ are prohibited from attending competitions at the Zone (Asia), Sub-Zones, and national federation levels, including club competitions.

    A five-year suspension for a member of the ‘Ultras Riyadi’ from attending games on a West Asia Sub-Zone level, including local club competitions.

    A two-year suspension for another member of the ‘Ultras Riyadi’ from attending games on a West Asia Sub-Zone level, including local club competitions.
