LEIDEN (FIBA Europe Cup) – ZZ Leiden guard Worthy De Jong has been one of the cornerstone pieces in the Dutch club's successful return to the European stage in the FIBA Europe Cup.

Averaging 15.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, a competition-best 2.9 steals and 1.1 blocks, De Jong is one of the most versatile two-way players in the league and played a major role in guiding Leiden to the Second Round.

We reached out to Worthy to get his thoughts on the year that is coming to a close and share his expectations and hopes for 2019.

If you had to single out three personal important moments/experiences of 2018, which three would you choose?
In no specific order, my Top 3 for 2018. My little man's first birthday – love you, Maze! Also, hearing that we are about to have another little one. Finally, starting my own kids' clothing line Julien Maze was a big step.

What will be your New Year's resolutions? Do you plan on making binding decisions for your life in 2019?
Well, starting a company is pretty big, so that's life-changing by itself, but probably working even harder to give my family everything they deserve.

How do you plan to spend New Year's Eve and New Year's Day? Is there a typical celebration, food, tradition that you have for that day and will you be following it?
We've been taking some steps back since we had our son, so the last couple of New Year Eves we just had some friends over, had some drinks and played all types of games, from Nintendo to board games. As for the day after, we always go eat homemade Belgian waffles at my girl's best friend's mom's house.

If you were told that you get to fulfill one big dream or one big wish of yours in 2019, what would you choose?
My one wish would be that I can give my family an amazing house to live in. But I'm working on that so I'll keep grinding to make it reality.
