    Fenerbahce, ASVEL to contest SuperCup Women 2023 in Lyon

    Reigning EuroLeague Women champions Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding will go up against EuroCup Women holders LDLC ASVEL Feminin in the traditional curtain raiser for the new seasons with a tip-off time of 20:00 CET.

    Fenerbahce claimed a historic maiden title when they triumphed at the Final Four in Prague back in April with victory over fellow Turkish side CBK Mersin Yenisehir Bld 99-60 as Breanna Stewart was named Final Four MVP.

    Meanwhile, ASVEL enjoyed a dominant success in the EuroCup Women Finals as they defeated Galatasaray Cagdas Factoring by an aggregate score of 180-113 to win the competition for the first time.

    The two teams will contest the 12th edition of the SuperCup Women competition with Tango Bourges Basket becoming the first French side to lift the title last season.

    It also marked the second time the winner had been the EuroCup Women club after Valencia Basket had made history in the competition's return in 2021.

    UMMC Ekaterinburg, Sparta&K M.R Vidnoje, Perfumerias Avenida, ZVVZ USK Praha and Dynamo Kursk are also previous winners of the SuperCup Women title, which was first held in 2009.
