YDP Camp a rousing success during BCL Americas Final 4

FRANCA (Brazil) – The 2023 Basketball Champions League Americas Final 4 in Franca, Brazil was the perfect setting for a new edition of the Youth Development Program organized by FIBA Americas.

On April 13-14, twenty Under 17 teenagers from the city of Franca took part in the 2023 FIBA YDP Camp at SESI Gym Franca. The event also included a coaches' clinic on the 15th at SESI Auditorium.

The head coaches in charge of the camp were Vitor Galvani and Marcelo Bandiera, members of the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB), with support from other local Franca and CBB coaches.

Galvani is currently the head coach of the U19 Brazilian National Team that will participate in the FIBA U19 World Cup, to be played June 24-July 2 in Hungary. He's also an assistant coach at the senior team and part of the coaching staff at Mexico City Capitanes of the NBA G League.

During the coaches' clinic, the Brazilian Confederation and Brazil's Basketball Institute (IBB) also launched a new Brazilian Coaches School. That was broadcasted nationally in Brazil.

Meanwhile, the young players participating in the camp were also invited to the BCL Americas final at Ginásio Pedrocão and witnessed SESI Franca lifting the trophy for the first time in history after defeating Flamengo.
