BERLIN (Germany) - The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 is entering the last days of action and the race to be crowned TISSOT MVP will soon reach an exciting climax.
With just two games left to play for each baller still in the running, who 's going to follow A'ja Wilson the 2022 winner? The future MVP will most likely come from one of the four remaining teams in contention.
10. Angel Reese (USA) NEW
Could the forward make a late charge into contention after a steady Women's Basketball World Cup debut so far? Reese could be needed in a big way inside the paint in these last games to help USA retain their cherished crown.
Heading into the Semi-Finals, she was third for the USA in efficiency having shot the ball nicely. As well as being second in both crashing the glass and also steals.
That solid defensive presence might prove priceless for USA.
9. Awa Fam (Spain) NEW
One of the rising stars to watch in the competition, Spain's frontcourt powerhouse has caught the eye with some hugely positive contributions. She has used her strength and athleticism to great effect so far, with more to come.
Fam is currently Spain's top rebounder and also for blocks - as well as being second in efficiency and scoring.
The young guns are delivering and look like potentially taking their nation back to the podium after missing Sydney.
8. Paige Bueckers (USA) +2
The guard is looking like she could be a big influence for USA in these last two crunch games, as she's currently second for her team in terms of performance efficiency valuation. She has shot almost 58 percent from the field
That sharp shooting form has also been accompanied by dishing out 3.5 dimes per game and she has made the most out of the near 20 minutes per game she has been handed by head coach, Kara Lawson.
7. Frieda Buhner (Germany) NEW
Noted as one of the rising stars to watch in Berlin, the forward has enhanced her burgeoning reputation with more excellent displays for the hosts. Her work has been a big part of Germany already taking historical steps forwards.
The scoring touch that Buhner has offered has been so important and she leads her nation with 14.8 points per game. In Germany’s four wins, she has scored between 13 and 21 points.
Her shooting range is again proving to be her biggest asset, making 9 of 18 from downtown so far.
6. Iyana Martin (Spain) NEW
Having made a splash at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup, Martin is now doing it at the big show with the senior Spanish team. Averaging a super 16.5 points per outing, she is showing she can be a leader at this level.
It's not only her scoring which has impressed. The guard is also leading her nation in assists with 3.3 per game and that has combined to ensure that she is top of Spain's chart for efficiency too - reflecting her all-around game.
5. Caitlin Clark (USA) -1
It might be a slight fall for Clark, but she is still the type of phenomenal talent who could come up with something special across the final weekend of the competition. She's already excelling when it comes to passing the rock.
The guard has handed out 7.0 assists per game and had that incredible debut performance against China.
If she has another similar performance in the Semi-Finals or Final if USA get there, could she win the ultimate prize?
4. Leonie Fiebich (Germany) NEW
A stellar presence for Germany in their historic run, it's been a superb show of leadership by Fiebich. Even when she was struggling offensively, she took her game to high levels in so many other ways to help her country.
Always organizing, doing dirty work, pulling the strings, playing defense, getting rebounds, she stepped up with a big scoring punch in the Quarter-Finals.
She leads Germany in efficiency, rebounds, assists and blocked shots.
3. Marine Johannes (France) +2
Clearly having heaps of fun for unbeaten France, Johannes has filled the highlights reel as expected with her stellar work across the competition. She has also really shot well from outside, making it rain in multiple games.
While France have not yet needed her in the clutch, she will be ready when called upon, having already put up some impressive numbers - not least 16.5 points per game on 48.5 percent shooting from the perimeter, along with a team-high 3.8 assists.
She is on track to record the best-ever average for three-pointers made per game at a World Cup.
2. Breanna Stewart (USA) -1
It might be a slight move downwards for the USA veteran, but she still leads the reigning champs in performance efficiency. 'Stewie' will be ready to hit a higher gear when it matters most to ensure USA defend their coveted title.
The frontcourt ace has made her name on coming up with the goods in the biggest moments and in the biggest games.
Plus, she already knows what it takes to be crowned TISSOT MVP, having won the award back in 2018.
1. Gabby Williams (France) +1
If France are to live up to their dream of making it to the Final for the first time and then landing a first ever title, surely Williams is the most likely candidate to be crowned MVP. She's been on fire on both ends of the floor.
With superb efficiency, she's averaged a team high 17.5 points for France, shooting a sparkling 50 percent from behind the three-point line.
She also leads in steals for her team, as well as showing exemplary leadership as the team's captain.
