BUCHAREST (Romania) – Worthy de Jong of Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED) capped a sensational weekend by earning Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Bucharest 2026 after leading the Dutch side to a successful title defense on October 11.
De Jong was the driving force behind Amsterdam's winning run, delivering when it mattered most as the defending champions won all seven of their games, starting in the Qualifying Draw and finishing with a thrilling 19-17 victory over Fuengirola (ESP) in the Final.
When the pressure peaked, de Jong came through once again. After pouring in 16 points in Amsterdam's Semi-Final win over Miami (USA), he hit the game-winning two-pointer in the Final to seal the title and complete another memorable Bucharest campaign.
Throughout the tournament, de Jong was an unstoppable force, finishing with a tournament-best 58.4 Player Value and 46 points, also leading all players with 26 highlights. He added 20 rebounds, the third-highest total in the competition, and five dunks, ranking second overall.
His all-around excellence helped Amsterdam secure their second FIBA 3x3 World Tour stop win of the 2026 season, following their triumph in WT Vienna.
