World's number 2 Stojacic to miss 3x3 season start due to injury

LIMAN ( 3x3) - FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2017 regular season MVP and Liman star Stefan Stojacic is out 6 weeks and will miss the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters on April 18-19.

SHANGHAI ( 3x3) - FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2017 regular season MVP and Liman star Stefan Stojacic is out 6 weeks and will miss the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Doha Masters on April 18-19.

Bad news for Liman (SRB) and for all the 3x3 fans as 'Mr Robot' confirmed today he aggravated a right calf injury, which will keep him on the sidelines for the next 6 weeks.

The number 2 player in the world and the World Tour top scorer last year will miss both the first Challenger of the season in Wuxi, China this weekend and the World Tour opener in Doha, Qatar on April 18-19.

If Stojacic does return after 6 weeks, he will miss up to 4 Challengers (including the Novi Sad Challenger in his hometown) but he would not miss any additional Masters as the 2nd Masters of the season is scheduled for June 1-2 in Chengdu, China.

Maksim Kovacevic will replace 'Mr Robot' in Wuxi and Doha. He already played for Liman last year at the Chengdu Masters as an injury replacement for Stefan Kojic. Liman ended up winning the event.
