ZARAGOZA (2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship) - Hosts Spain, holders USA and Italy are all yet to taste defeat at the 2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship.

The trio hold 2-0 records, with Spain having to work hard to get their second success against a resilient Mali who refused to lie down. Sofia Galeron starred with another productive display in the 77-63 success as she scored 21 points. There was also a double-double of 12 points and 10 boards for Silvia Serrat.

The USA had to hold off a stiff challenge from the Czech Republic before collecting a 72-63 victory and they will now meet Italy in a Group C decider after the Italians toppled Korea 78-67.

The performance of the day arguably came from Izabela Nicoletti of Brazil who put her opening day nightmare behind her. She went for 24 points and 14 rebounds to deny Portugal their first win and get Brazil up and running in the tournament.
