ORLEANS (France) - After a spectacular first triumph at an amazing FIBA 3x3 World Cup, the Netherlands will now set their sights on once again dominating the pro circuit as the Women's Series 2025 resumes at the Orleans Stop.
Let's preview the action on July 9-10. The Favorites
Obviously, we just have to start with top seed the Netherlands, who cemented their standard as the best women's team on the planet after a dominant World Cup.
MVP Noortje Driessen will not be in Orleans, but the women in orange still boast a trio of gold medalists as they seek to extend their big lead on top of the standings.
Superstar Janis Boonstra will lead the Dutch and step out of Driessen's shadow as she eyes a second MVP award. Netherlands' incredible depth of talent will be on show with third seed Netherlands U25 also a title contender.
It looms as a tournament set to be dominated by the Dutchwomen, but other nations will be aiming to spoil their party.
Spain boast Paris Olympic silver medalists Vega Gimeno and Sandra Ygueravide as the No.2 seed look to continue their perfect record this season having taken out the Marseille Stop.
The Field
Olympic gold medalist Germany are continuing to back their New Gen and we're excited to see more of towering 23-year-old Sarah Polleros, who showcased her immense skills at the World Cup. It's taken us far too long to get to emerging Latvia, who have already chalked up a dub this season after a historic first-ever triumph at the Baku Stop. Walking bucket Ketija Vihmane was on fire to claim the MVP and if she goes on another heater then Latvia might again go on a giant-killing run.
CS Rapid Bucharest (ROU) and Puerto Rico have both reached the semi-finals this season, while Orleans (FRA) will be ignited by the support of the French faithful who will be cheering loudest every time star Marie Mane has the Wilson in her hands.
