    ASTANA (2016 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships) - Veronika Kanyasi (Hungary) won gold in the skills contest of the 2016 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships.

    The number one 3x3 player in the world in the U18 women's category was dominant in all 3 rounds. She was the fastest of all participants in the qualifier on 1 June, then went on to defeat Nathaly Pinelo (Guatemala) in the semi-finals and Julia Niemojewska (Poland) in the final on 4 June.

    It is Kanyasi's second medal at the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships after she helped Hungary win bronze in the women's tournament last season.

    Niemojewska struck silver and Pinelo collected bronze. Nadine Selaawi (Egypt) finished fourth.
